Wellness Is Not a Club You Have to Qualify For

Wellness is often portrayed as a privilege—reserved for those who follow certain diets, routines, or curated lifestyles. But social media has a way of overlooking reality, reinforcing a surface-level aesthetic: green juices, yoga mats, meditation apps, and picture-perfect mornings. Wellness isn’t exclusive to any profession, income stream, or aesthetic. It’s not defined by how your life looks, but by how it feels—and that’s personal.

There’s a common misconception that how someone earns a living defines their wellness or their ability to live a fulfilling life. Our founder, Sophie Annaston, has faced the narrative that her multifaceted career as a content creator and her passion for wellness cannot coexist. In spite of this, she’s sustained The Conscious Wellness Club, challenging the status quo. Her career doesn’t fit the wellness mold—and that’s exactly the point. Public perception, shaped by marketing, media, and social platforms, has reinforced a narrow idea of who wellness is “for.”, but wellness is for anyone who chooses it.

Too often, financial wellbeing is left out of conversations around wellness. And yet, it plays a crucial role in maintaining overall well-being. Without financial security, stress can spill over into other areas, undermining physical, emotional, and environmental wellness. Wellness is multifaceted, (encompassing physical, emotional, spiritual, social, intellectual, occupational, environmental, and financial wellness) and financial wellness provides the stability and control needed to make informed decisions that support life goals, reduce stress, and improve overall well-being.

Wellness is individual and ever-evolving. It’s about conscious choices that support the whole person—not someone else’s idea of what “well” should look like. Wellness welcomes all—it doesn’t belong to one image or income bracket. The Conscious Wellness Club was built on this very foundation. And we know first hand how the wellness industry—driven by trends, consumerism, and aesthetics—often suggests otherwise.

Wellness isn’t a club you have to qualify for. If your choices supports your well-being and align with your values, own it—unapologetically.
